The Story Continues: Why I Built Trackless Links Pro for the Mac

Last month, I shared the story of Trackless Links – how a personal „scratch your own itch“ project to clean messy URLs grew into my second App Store app for iOS. The response was amazing, and I was thrilled that so many people shared my frustrations with the modern web.

But the story didn’t feel finished. The core problem wasn’t just on my phone; it was sitting on my desktop, where I spend most of my day.

Every time I sat down at my Mac, I felt the disconnect. All those powerful Redirect Rules I’d built (like forcing old.reddit.com or redirecting X.com to a privacy-friendly frontend) were stuck on my iPhone. All those Browser Tweaks I’d created (like re-enabling copy-paste on stubborn websites) were missing. The experience was fragmented. My Mac felt left out.

That’s what Trackless Links Pro is all about. It’s the next chapter of the story.

I spent the last few weeks diving deep into native macOS development to build the app I really wanted – a true, cross-platform power-tool. This isn’t just an iPad app running on a Mac; it’s a dedicated, native macOS app, built with SwiftUI to feel perfectly at home on your desktop.

But the „Pro“ isn’t just about the Mac app itself; it’s about the connection. Trackless Links Pro is a Universal Purchase – you buy it once and get it on iPhone, iPad, AND Mac.

And the feature that ties it all together is iCloud Sync.

Now, when I add a new tracking parameter to the filter list on my Mac, it’s synced to my iPhone before I even pick it up. When I create a complex new redirect rule on the go, it’s on my Mac waiting for me. It’s the seamless, „it just works“ experience I was missing.

This is the app I always dreamed of building when I first started. It’s a complete system for taking back control of your web browsing, no matter which device you’re on.
